21-year-old Briton Jack Draper is living some of the best time in his career.
His impressive run, which started a week ago in Bergamo, goes on at the Sofia Open as he reached the third ATP Tour semi-final in his career. It was his 4th win in a row in Sofia and 9 overall in a row with those in Italy.
Today, Draper, who started the event in the qualifications, eased through “wild card” Cem Ilkel, 6:2, 6:2 in 1:15 hours at the Central Court of “Arena Sofia”. Draper hit six aces, converted 4 of 9 break points and made no double faults in his first match against the best Turkish player.
He didn’t lose a set in the event so far.
The 21-year-old, who reached the fourth round at the US Open in September, is chasing his maiden tour-level title. He will face next in the Top 4 performance the third-seeded German – Jan-Lennard Struff.
