La Monf to Bulgarian fans: “Can’t wait to see you in the stands!”
Gael Monfils is the first big name to announce his participation in ATP 250 Sofia Open 2021. The soon-
to-be 35-year old Frenchman is a 10-time ATP Tour singles title. Last week at the Western & Southern
Open he recorded his 500 th ATP Tour singles match win and on Monday he rose to #20 in the FedEx ATP
Singles rankings.
“Hi! I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be returning to the Sofia Open September 26 th to October 3 rd .
I’m looking forward to see all the fans back at the stadium. See you there!”, said Monfils in a special
video message to Bulgarian fans.
Last year Sofia was among the few cities to stage an ATP tournament after the resumption of the tour.
In 2021 the tradition continues with the sixth edition of the most prestigious tournament in Bulgaria.
Details about the start of ticket sale for Sofia Open 2021 will be given in due course in accordance with
the current epidemiological situation in Bulgaria.
