Jan-Lennard Struff reached his first Sofia Open semi-final. The third seed defeated Hungarian Fabian Marozsan 7:6 (3), 4:6, 6:4 in almost 2 hours.
Can you compare the conditions at Court 1 and Central Court?
It is much more better to play at Central Court. It is a beautiful Central Court. A big Arena. For me it was may be slightly faster. Bur Court 1 was for me as good as well.
I am very happy with the win. We know that the tournament had very very short time to prepare. I think they make great effort in a short notice to provide this event.
Win after win do you believe that you may win this tournament?
Yeah, I am very happy that I won two matches now in a row, since I came back at Tour after my injury when I was three months out, I didn’t reach two wins in a row. So, I am very happy. It was tough match today. It is going to be very tough match in the semi-finals, I think. I saw Draper was two games up, we will see how this match goes. Either who wins, it will be tough match and I will try to focus on that match and then we will see. Because the difficult matches are not really time to dream or to think about more. Just focus on the next one.
What was the reason of your down during one of the service games?
I have no idea. I think it was a match on a very high level before and it was just strange to me as well. But this can happen in sport. The important thing was that I managed to come back from that, that I didn’t get too angry. Because it can sometimes happen. That is frustrating at some point. But my reaction was good, I stayed in the match. I came back. But, yeah, it was kind of strange to me as well.
Would you call the fans form Borussia Dortmund’s fanclub in Bulgaria to support you for the next match?
That would be amazing. I live close by Dortmund, so either if they come or not come, I am very happy that there is a fan club! I am a big fan, I go often to stadium. Some support from them would be amazing for sure.
