Former doubles number 1 Daniel Nestor will play in Sofia
The Draw has been made for the DIEMA XTRA Sofia Open. The ATP 250 event will take place from the 4st to the 11th of February in Arena Armeec.
A lot of great doubles players and a bunch of interesting matches are coming for the doubles tournament. In Sofia will play the legend and former world number 1 doubles player Daniel Nestor, who will play with Robert Lindsted (Sweden). “This will the final year in the Tour for one of the best doubles players ever. We are happy having him in the draw,” Paul McNamee, DIEMA XTRA Sofia Open tournament director, said.
A great battle will be there at the beginning. The draw met last year champions – Viktor Troicki and Nenad Zimonic with the first Sofia Open champion Matwe Middlekoop, who is playing this year with Robin Haase.
Two Bulgarian doubles will play this year. In the first round Dimitar Kuzmanov and Vasko Mladenov meet Scott Lipsky/Divij Sharan. Alexandar Lazov and Alexander Donski will play Jamie Cerretani and Sander Gille.
“I know, soon the Bulgarian players will have to play for Davis Cup, so this tournament will be very useful for them.” McNamee added.
