Adrian Mannarino qualified for his 15th career ATP final. In the Sofia Open 2023’s semi-final, the 35-year-old Frenchman defeated Pavel Kotov 6:2, 7: 6 (2).
“We both served well in the second set. He first made a break, which seemed logical. But I continued to serve well and managed to get the break back. I stayed consistent, and that helped me move forward. I was trying to be aggressive and force him to take an extra risk, and it worked out pretty well,” the Frenchman commented for the Sofia Open website.
It will be Mannarino’s fourth final in 2023, losing the ATP 250 trophy match in Mallorca in June and winning the ATP 250 Newport titles in July and the ATP 250 Astana titles in September.
“The second half of the season is going great for me. I play hard. I would even say I did not expect to end the year at such a high level. It’s always nice to end the season with a final, and I’ll do my best to end it with a win,” the experienced tennis player added.
The singles final between Jack Draper and Adrian Mannarino starts at 15:00 on Center Court at Arena Sofia. Before that, at 12:30 p.m., the championship doubles match between Julian Cash/Nikola Mektic and Gonzalo Escobar/Alexander Nedovesov will be played.
The tournament is held with the support of Inbet, Nova Broadcasting Group, А1, Diema Extra, Electrohold, Sofiamed, First Investment Bank, Europa Bullion, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Tourism.
