Pavel Kotov books a SF spot

Pavel Kotov booked himself the last Semi-final spot at the Sofia Open 2023. The 24-year-old tennis player defeated eight-seeded Marton Fucsovics (Hungary) 6:3, 7:6 ( 3), stopping the Hungarian from repeating his best result in Sofia – the final in 2019.

The match at the Arena Sofia lasted nearly two hours.

Tomorrow, Kotov will face the second seed – Adrian Mannarino, in his third ATP semi-final of the season. He has reached this stage in Marrakesh (lost to Müller) and Stockholm (lost in the final to Monfils).

A break by Kotov in the fourth game was enough for Kotov to win the first set. In the second, the Hungarian led 4:1, but Kotov managed to tie the game at 4:4 and won in the tie-break 7:3.

The semi-finals are scheduled for tomorrow.
