Radu Albot defeated Alexander Lazarov 7:6 (0), 6:2 in the Bulgarian’s debut match in ATP Tour main draw. The match lasted 73 minutes. Next Albot’s opponent will be the second seeded David Goffin. Last year Lazarovplayed in the qualifying round in Sofia Open.
Today he showed his progress. The 19-years-old fought hard, especially in the first set, but the experience of his opponent – number 92 in the world, was a key factor for the final result.
„I started the match in high level. Unfortunately I was very nervous and the pressure was really high in the most important moments. I am thankful to the organizers for this chance to play in the main draw. I think I know what I have to improve. I have to be more stable, more consistent and less nervous. I hope next time the result will be different”, said after the match Lazarov.
