Second seeded Pablo Carreno Busta stunned in his Sofia Open 2022 debut

The World No. 14 Pablo Carreno Busta, second seed, followed the third seed, Grigor Dimitrov, the sixth seed – Nikoloz Basilashvili and 8th seed – Oscar Otte, and left Sofia Open 2022 early.

The Spanish star was stunned by the World No. 95 Marc-Andrea Huesler 6:3, 6:3, and 6:2. The Swiss needed one hour and 44 minutes to earn his first Top 20 win of the season.

Next Huesler will face  Kamil Majchrzak. The Pole stopped earlier on Thursday the eighth seeded Oscar Otte 4:6, 6:2, 6:4 to advance to his third tour-level quarter-final of the year. The Pole now repeated his success at Sofia Open – last year he played again in the top 8, but lost to Filip Krajnović (Serbia).
