Sofia Open 2022 champion Marc-Andrea Huesler is coming back. The Swiss will play once again in Bulgaria as this year he will start his campaign in the qualifiers.
Marc-Andrea Huesler wrote a history page to himself at the Sofia Open 2022. The Top-Swiss player overcame Dane Holger Rune 6:4, 7:6(8) to capture his maiden tour-level title. Huesler was the third player to win his first career ATP title in Sofia after Mirza Basic in 2018 and Jannik Sinner in 2020.
Sofia Open 2022’s trophy is still his only one, as he dropped to #174.
Huesler will be 4th seed in the qualifiers and will face Alexander Erler from Austria in the first rund.
Top-seeded French Terence Atmane will face Evgeny Donskoy in his first match. Second-seeded Nikolas Moreno De Alboran will play with one of the local favourites – Alexander Donski. The other Bulgarian in the qualifiers – Yanaki Milev, will start Nerman Fatic (BIH).
The qualifiers start on November 4, Saturday, in “Sofia Hall”.
