The German pair sent to end the positive run of the top-seeds Fabio Fognini and Simone Bolelli at the Sofia Open doubles tournament. Unseeded Oscar Otte and Fabian Fallert won 6:3 and 7:5 and made it to the final of the tournament.
It will be Otte’s second final this year after the defeat in the match for the trophy at ATP Challenger in Phoenix in march along with Jan-Lennard Struff. Floriant had much more success so far in the season, winning the two titles in ATP Challenger Series in Forli, and losing finals in Italy, Germany and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Italians lost their chances to win third tour-level title of the season and to move up than the 10th-place in the Pepperstone ATP Live Doubles Teams Rankings. Their loss was a happy new forMarcelo Arevalo and Jean-Julien Rojer, who are the third doubles team to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals, joining Wesley Koolhof/Neal Skupski and Rajeev Ram/Joe Salisbury. The season finale will be played in Turin from 13-20 November.
